A Los Angeles construction photographer, a new film studio and a private gallery he owns. We built the brands, websites and software behind all three.

Project Overview

We started with his photography brand. Then came a film studio, then a private gallery.

Weldon Brewster is a Los Angeles photographer with nearly four decades on construction sites and landmark builds, from Frank Gehry’s The Grand in LA to the I-35 bridge in a Minnesota January. Since 2024 we’ve built three things for him, in this order:

01:  A rebrand and new website for Weldon Brewster Photography.
02: A brand-new brand and website for Structural Stories, the film studio he launched next.
03: A private gallery where his clients view and download their photos.

The challenge

His brand, his business and his tools had all fallen behind his work.

His photography brand didn’t feel as premium as his work. Then he started Structural Stories, a film studio for a different kind of client, and it needed a name of its own.

Every shoot was delivered through a hosted gallery service he couldn’t change. He couldn’t add features or organise his photos his own way, and the archive kept growing.

Created the Structural Stories brand, its website and everything around it.

  4. (4)

    Build

Built the private gallery to replace the hosted gallery service.

  5. (5)

    Support

Keep both sites and the gallery moving, on a standing weekly call.

The Output

What we built, in three parts.

Part 1

Weldon Brewster Photography: a rebrand that feels expensive

The brief was one line: should not feel cheap, but expensive. We explored three identity directions and landed on a mark where a camera lens and a photo frame form a W, on a quiet slate palette. Then we rebuilt weldonbrewster.com in Webflow around his best projects.

Part 2

Structural Stories: a new brand for a new studio

Structural Stories makes films for construction and engineering firms, a different buyer from his photography clients. So it got its own brand, voice and colours, a website built from scratch, and everything a client sees: landing page, proposals, pitch decks, client agreements, business cards, email signatures and socials.

The brand stands on one idea: find the Blade of Grass in a billion-dollar build, the one detail everyone else walks past. No sizzle reels, only proof that helps A/E/C firms win pursuits, hire talent and own their sector.

Part 3

Private gallery: one he fully controls

We built a custom web app at studio.weldonbrewster.com to replace the hosted service. Photos upload straight to his own cloud storage, and large uploads pause and resume.

(What his clients see)

A private, password-protected link. They browse the shoot by timeline, index or grid, and download in original or web quality.

(What Weldon sees)

He invites his team, creates as many folders and galleries as he needs, and sees every view and download. Links can expire or be reset, and deleted galleries wait 30 days before they’re gone.

Then the photos needed a home of their own.

Impact

Two brands live. One archive he owns.

2 brands

and two websites, live and maintained since 2024

~250 TB

of photos in a private gallery Weldon controls

~5× less

to run than the hosted gallery service it replaced

Weekly

working call since 2024, where every list comes back done

(07)

The outcome

“We meet every week, I bring the list, and it comes back done.”

“I change my mind, I redesign things, I show up with ideas out of left field, and the answer is always ‘okay, we can do that,’ followed by something better than I pictured.”
